These evaluations may be requested in a variety of contexts, including diagnostic clarification, treatment planning, court proceedings, or when questions arise about an individual’s ability to manage daily functioning or participate in services. After the evaluation is complete, a comprehensive written report is prepared—typically within 3 weeks. The report includes any formal diagnoses, a summary of findings, and clear, tailored recommendations for treatment, supports, or further assessment. Each evaluation is customized to address the specific referral concerns, and all findings are presented with a focus on the individual’s unique strengths, needs, and potential for growth.
Other Psychological Evaluations
Psychological evaluations are comprehensive assessments designed to clarify mental health diagnoses, assess cognitive and emotional functioning, and provide a deeper understanding of an individual’s psychological presentation. These evaluations may focus on differential diagnosis—helping to distinguish between similar or overlapping mental health conditions—or may assess cognitive abilities such as memory, attention, executive functioning, and intellectual functioning. Evaluations may also explore personality structure, trauma history, emotional regulation, and behavioral patterns.
The evaluation process includes a review of relevant records, clinical interviews, standardized psychological testing, and collateral information when appropriate. Depending on the referral questions, the evaluation typically takes 4–6 hours of face-to-face time. We use empirically-supported tools to ensure accurate and meaningful results that are grounded in current psychological research.
